It all began with a problem that seemed impossible to solve

When Claude Perdriel founded SFA (Société Française d'Assainissement) in 1958, his ambition was not to build an international industrial group. He wanted to solve a very practical problem.

At the time, thousands of homes in Paris lacked proper toilet facilities because connecting them to conventional drainage systems was technically difficult or impossible.

Where others saw an obstacle, Claude Perdriel saw an opportunity.

The invention of the Sanibroyeur offered an innovative solution, making it possible to install toilets in places where traditional plumbing would not allow it. More than a technical breakthrough, it gave people greater freedom to adapt and improve their living spaces.

This simple but powerful idea laid the foundations for SFA GROUP and established an entrepreneurial philosophy that remains central to the company today: innovation begins with a real need and the determination to find a solution.

From a French invention to an international industrial group

What began as a response to a specific challenge gradually developed into an international industrial success story.

With its historic manufacturing site nearby Paris, France, SFA built its development on industrial expertise, product innovation and a commitment to maintaining control over its manufacturing processes.

International expansion followed in the 1970s, beginning with Germany in 1977 and continuing across Europe and beyond.

Today, SFA Group brings together approximately 1,100 employees, 30 subsidiaries and eight production sites, with products and solutions present in more than 70 countries.

From its origins in sanitary technology to its broader expertise in pumping solutions and water treatment, the Group continues to evolve while remaining true to the principles that shaped its beginnings.
